Six weeks with a puppy

My puppy is 100 days old today, and since we've had her, I feel like I've aged 100 years. I haven't had a full night's sleep in 6 weeks, have been nipped in the most intimate of places and can't even go to the toilet without her whining.

But I wouldn't change it for the word; I can't remember 6 weeks ago without her. It's not easy and quite honestly I'm definitely put off having children almost indefinitely but using the old cliche, she is worth it.

Updates-the good...

She is out of my bed and sleeps in her crate from 10.30 till 6.30.

She knows how to sit and does it without being told before having her dinner or getting a treat.

She is so good on and off her lead and comes back when she's called.

The bad

Her nipping and chewing are particularly bad; our table legs are getting more and more whittled and occasionally she has bouts of biting us- usually when she's tired, hungry or needs the toilet. We're working on using a whistle to detract her and so far so good.

She won't be left alone and cries even if we're just upstairs.

She doesn't sleep enough which makes her more bitey.

The ugly

Dog poo always smells.

We'll take her for a big, long walk but the first thing she does when we get back is wee on the carpet - despite having countless opportunities on the walk.

I'm loving dog walks more than I thought I would and love her cuddles. Here's to the next 6 weeks!
