After a disappointing festive season of uncertainty and disappointment regarding Covid, the new year hopefully will mean new opportunities to continue on my quest to relive my twenties...
1. Wear make up more
For Christmas I was given a gift card to get some new make up. While I'd like to splash out on Charlotte Tilbury or other High end brand, I'm happy with Maybelline or Rimmel. On the look out for some lip gloss and mascara in particular.
2. Sleep in till Midday
Recently I've enjoyed a string of Lie-ins. Some unintentional (thank you, Booster) and others because the dog has seemed more than happy to snuggle under the covers. I just need to make sure staying in bed until gone 9AM on dreary mornings doesn't become too much of a habit...
3. Have a solid group of friends
I received a Christmas card from a friend I haven't seen in a couple of years so I'd like to get back in contact with her. I'm planning on going to see a friend in Scotland soon and have made an acquaintance at the gym... Even if he is about 20 years older than me and I'm not his type for a fling!
4. Find a hobby
Last week, I found a new pub quiz to go to. Before covid my mum and I frequently went to a quiz at our local but they stopped doing them. I'd forgotten how much fun they are, and winning £10 for coming 4th was definitely a bonus! I need to get revising for the next one.
I'm not sure how I feel going into the new year. I want to be optimistic, however am also cautious of uncertainty. Here's to a (hopefully) positive 2022.
