Seasonal Goals- Summer Edition

It's coming up to the time of year I've most been looking forward to, however the past quarter of the year has been pretty good too.

Spring Goal Review

1. Visit my friend in Scotland

I had a great weekend in Scotland; I caught up with my friend, we went to loads of beaches, I hiked up the highest point in East Lothian and the weather was great. Despite only being there for 2 nights it was so lovely to see her and we've planned another trip away together.

2. Have a proper conversation with a boy

During one pub quiz week, my team was placed on the same table as our 'rivals'; the group of lads that have been there every week and who we have a friendly chat with each week. Throughout the evening, I had a such a lovely chat with them; we talked about favourite TV shows, karaoke go-to's and, for some bizarre reason, Rasputin's penis!! While my heart was shattered when I learned the two I fancy are in committed relationships (such is life), it was so great to properly chat to the male species, have them ask questions, ask questions in return and hope that I can one day find a boy I like as much as them and them be single... or one of the two boys' relationships end and I can make my move! (I'm not that much of a bitch- I promise!)

3. Save money for travel

I reached my goal of saving £300 and would like to put it towards a trip to Australia or a weekend in Paris.

Summer Goals- Mid June- September

1. Travel to my favourite country twice

I've got two trips to Greece coming up and I'm so excited. The first is to my favourite place in the world and the second to an island I visited for a day last year and can't wait to return. I want to make the most of every second, swim, eat, snorkel and get a fabulous tan!

2. Make the most of the summer

While I hope to have some work over the holidays, I want to make the most of my reduced teaching schedule with days out, spontaneous trips to the beach, seeing friends or lazing in the garden. My bank account will probably hope I indulge in the latter rather than the formers!

3. 'Enjoy' my birthday

At the risk of sounding like a party pooper, I hate my birthday. I don't like being the centre of attention and I don't like the pressure of it being 'the best day' and 'being spoiled'. Last year, my Covid vaccine appointment got cancelled and it pissed down with rain. Had it been any other day, I wouldn't have been bothered but because it was my birthday, it felt like I was supposed to have a great day, which in turn actually felt pretty rubbish. This year, my birthday will be rebranded as 'meeting the new puppy of  family friends' day which I'm far more excited about than celebrating me. So on the 6th of July, I would like to have puppy cuddles, see family friends I've known my whole life and have fish and chips takeaway or my favourite meal of fajitas for tea.
