Blogmas 3- Love Actually in Concert

I love 'Love Actually' and always try to look for ways to watch even not at Christmas time. I love the film but the soundtrack is also one of my favourites from a film. So when I found out there was a concert where the film is shown with a live orchestra performing the music I immediately booked tickets. Essentially, I paid nearly £50 to watch a film I have on DVD and that is available on streaming services but the inclusion of the orchestra made it well worth the ticket price.

The production tours all over the UK but my closest one was the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The venue was lovely with a small, intimate feel and a great view of the orchestra.

The soundtrack is so special to me; there is one particular song that I love playing on the piano and have always said I want played at my wedding or funeral, with the funeral seeming more likely so to hear it live was amazing and even better than I could imagine.

The whole concert gave a whole new perspective to a film I've seen hundreds of time and was a lovely way to spend an afternoon/evening. The orchestra were so talented both individually and as a collective.

There's other showings of films with an orchestra such as The Holiday, Home Alone and La La Land and so I'd love to see another one; I think The Holiday might be next on the list.
