2020: vision and goals

Happy New Year...

Among the excitement and emotions of 2019, it was actually quite a productive year. Hopefully I put in place things that I will be able to carry forward and manifest into 2020.

Things happened in 2019 that I never expected and I was in a different state of mind at the end of the year than I was at the beginning and I wasn't sure that was going to happen. So despite the meme above, there's a few things I want to happen and hope to achieve this year.

1. Make progress in buying a house
Even though in my 2019 round-up I had a big rant about not being able to buy a house, I'm looking at other options. I want to be able to get a mortgage in principal once I've completed my accounts in April and continue to save well into my deposit account. A couple of my friends are also buying and moving houses so I hope I can pick up some tips for if my time comes...

2. Travel
So far, I have 2 trips booked; a sailing holiday in Greece and a TrekAmerica excursion through the West Coast of America. I'll be travelling solo again and I'm a mixture of excited and nervous but I'm determined to have a brilliant time. I hope to also take a city break somewhere, have our annual girly holiday to Greece and take a trip to Scotland to visit my friend.

3. Career
I have roughly 2 spaces left in my tutoring schedule to be at full capacity, so I'm hoping to fill those. I love my job and hope it continues smoothly and allows me to make a good income. Last year I also started freelance writing. Writing has always been an interested of mine but I didn't think I could make it work as a career. I managed to find something that fits around my tutoring and I want to continue building up a writing portfolio.

4. Fitness
Last year I became less obsessed with fitness. I didn't panic if I missed a day at the gym or even 2 or 3. I want to continue in that trend this year. I'm happy with my workout routine but I'd like to vary my exercises a little more and be able to run on the treadmill consistently for at least 10 minutes.
I'd also like to become more flexible so I want to start a daily stretching routine when I get up as a way to start the day.

I think 4 main goals is enough to be going on with for now, however there are a few other little things I'd like to do this year. What are your goals for this year? Have you got any tips for keeping up with them...

I hope to check in throughout the year with some progress. Until the next time, Happy 2020.
xx
